II. PRESENT SITUATIONS
A. Strengths
1. Teachers of the department are professional and experience. They are also energetic, resourceful and responsive to changes in the environment.
2. Teachers are co-operative, enthusiastic and working on their own initiative. And they like to share the knowledge and experience among themselves.
3. More innovative ideas would be generated with a new member.
B. Weaknesses
1. There is a great diversity of learning abilities among students. Variety of teaching strategies and supports are needed to narrow down the gap.
2. The learning modes of students have changed rapidly nowadays. Various types of learning materials (e.g. eLearning materials, flipped classroom and life-wide learning activities) should be built to meet the demands. Relevant professional training for teachers is necessary.
3. More efforts should be put to encourage students to take the active roles of learning.
